Appearance: Ted is a tall and muscular man. He doesn’t adhere to trends or styles. He’s a simple man with his clothing sticking with jeans and pull over shirts. He’ll wear any color without prejudice. He has a favorite worn brown leather jacket the only item of clothing he seems to really care about. He keeps his hair short but with enough shag to ruffle if need be. He does his best to keep clean shaven but more often than not he’ll have some scruff going on. Even though Ted is a big man he usually has an inviting look about him.

Personality:

Ted is a laid back sort of guy with an upbeat sense of humor. He’s had a great trauma in his life and he’s constantly struggling with not letting it change who he is. Before his wife died Ted was amiable, witty, and daring. When his wife died he became reclusive, drained, tired, and timid. It took him a while to get back into balance with who he was then and who he had become. He’s an insightful man whose strengths lay in social interactions. He had never been good with school but when it came to socializing and understanding people he knew his stuff.

He hasn’t had anyone in his life long enough to be over protective of but he has it in him. Ted has an open heart and is quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. He likes to joke around and has been known to play practical jokes on people. Even though he hates to admit it he is superstitious. He is stupidly trusting when he gets goo-goo eyes for a woman. He’s usually well guarded and is bitter about all of his misfortunes with the women in his life but he can’t help but be a trusting puppy dog for a pretty woman.


History:

I. When Ted was six years old his mother left. At the time he didn’t know why. When he got older he found out it was because his mother was cheating on his father with another man. He was close to his mother when he was a child and this left him devastated and he’d cling to any woman in his life. When was older and found out why she left this changed his outlook on women and he became cynical and guarded.


II. When Ted finally found a woman he was comfortable with she wound up killing herself. The two had been together for two years and married for one. Rebecca was moody but faithful. In the end her mood swings took her into a dark place and she killed herself. At the time she didn’t know and neither did Ted but his wife was pregnant.

III. The feeling of hopelessness forced Ted’s hand into committing a few crimes. After the death of his family he shop lifted on various occasions caught once. The second time he was arrested was for assaulting a police officer. Ted had been drinking and went for a walk. He wound up passing out in a park and when the officer woke him up he punched the guy in the face. Within the same month he was arrested for indecent exposure when he peed in public.

IV. For most of his life Ted felt he had no control over what went on. When he first got on a motorcycle he finally felt a feeling of calm in his life. When he feels like life is out of control he goes on long rides. He considers it his healthy alternative for his frustrations because without his bike he’d probably drink and he usually gets in trouble when he does that.

V. Because of his string of trouble with the law Ted found it hard to get a decent job anywhere. Ted was a man of the land so to say. He had never been to college so all of his learning was out in the working world. The only jobs he could get where either sketchy under the counter work or being paid well under minimum wage. It might sound like a stretch but the best he could come up with was being a male stripper.

VI. For a long time Ted was depressed and he made a lot of stupid choices. One of those stupid choices was having sex with lots of women. At the time random sex was a good idea but when he found out he fostered a daughter he reached out to her. When he tried to step up the mother pushed him away and made it impossible for him to come around.

VII. Ted met a woman, he spent all his money on her, they moved in together, a few weeks after living together their loft was broken into. Everything was taken along with his truck. Ted was working a graveyard shift and came home in the morning to find everything gone. It turned out his girlfriend had another boyfriend and they took everything he had. Because he trusted her he lent her his truck so she could get to a doctor’s appointment that morning which gave her the chance to take it.
